His talk was on the arts. His definition of "the arts" was anything that provokes a pleasant emotional response, and the "artist", quite simply, the "person who creates art." He described the twelve qualities of genius as found in a book on his library shelf entitled "Awakening Genius in the Classroom" as "curiosity, playfulness, imagination, creativity, wonder, wisdom, inventiveness, vitality, sensitivity, flexibility, humor, and joy", and he noted how many of these qualities are found in the artist. He also posed the question "why is what we do important?" and answered it by saying that it may be partly for economical reasons, partly cultural, partly educational; but mainly towards development of the creative mind and spirit. He stated that "more and more, future generations will live in a society that will require flexible thinking, a capacity to generate new ideas and create: all skills that can be enhanced through exposure to the arts.

Dorothy Griffin-Farish extended thanks to Mr. Brisson following his informative talk and presented him with a gift.
