  1. NAME
    The name of this association shall be the West Prince Arts Council abbreviated W.P.A.C.

  2. OBJECTIVE
    To promote and coordinate all facets of art and culture in West Prince, emphasizing the continuous upgrading of local programs and activities in concert with the expressed needs of the local communities.

    1. To promote, publicize, and advance the arts in West Prince.
    2. To provide one central clearing house for the arts in West Prince by maintaining liaison with the Westisle family of Schools and the West Prince French Schools, the P.E.I. Council of the Arts, the Canada Council, the Confederation Centre of the Arts, the P.E.I. Multi-cultural Council, the extension services of Holland College and UPEI, etc., as these pertain to the arts in West Prince.
    3. To promote and advance arts activities already existing in West Prince.
    4. To organize workshops in the arts.
    5. To seek adequate funding for the arts activities in West Prince.
    6. To promote maximum usage of cultural facilities in West Prince by supporting local effort, as well as arranging and promoting several cultural events per year.


  3. AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
    All that territory lying within the boundaries of the Westisle Family of Schools and the West Prince French Schools.

  4. MEMBERSHIP

    1. ACTIVE members must be involved in the arts in West Prince; such members shall have the privileges of voting, holding office, receiving publications, and attending meetings of the council.
    2. PATRONS OF THE COUNCIL need not be actively involved in the arts in West Prince, but must be interested in their promotion. They shall receive all official Council publications.
    3. HONORARY membership shall be given to those, who in the opinion of the Council membership, have made an outstanding contribution to the growth of the arts in West Prince.


  5. FEES
    An annual membership fee shall be charged to all active members of the Council, such fee to be determined by the executive and approved by simple majority of members present at an annual general meeting.

  6. VOTING on motions and resolutions shall be by a show of hands or by secret ballot at the discretion of the members present, a simple majority being required except in amendment votes where 2/3 of the active members present is required. Only members whose fees are fully paid for the current year shall vote.
