BY-LAWS
    1. The President shall:
      1. Chair general Board and Executive meetings of the Council.
      2. Represent the Council on request.
      3. Prepare a written report for presentation at the annual general meeting.

    2. The Vice-President shall:
      1. Chair meetings when the president is unable to do so.

    3. The Secretary shall:
      1. Take minutes of all general Board and Executive meetings and compile same in a minute book.
      2. Answer all correspondence on the recommendation of the Executive and membership, and write such correspondence as may be deemed necessary.
      3. Send out notification of meetings and circulate minutes.

    4. The Treasurer shall:
      1. Attend to the financial affairs of the Council.
      2. Prepare monthly financial statements as well as an annual financial summary.
      3. Issue receipts, bills, statements, etc.

    5. ALL TERMS OF OFFICE shall be two years beginning and ending at the annual general meeting.

    6. A QUORUM for a Board meeting shall be five members, and Executive meetings, four will be a quorum.

    7. HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIPS shall be presented to those who have made substantial contributions to the Arts in West Prince over an extended period of time.
      Honorary members shall receive all publications on the Council free for life, in addition to receiving a free life membership and an appropriate certificate recognizing their contributions. A special committee shall be established by the executive at least two months prior to the annual general meeting to recommend to the executive whether an award(s) shall be given that year. The committee will present a report to the executive which shall contain the necessary background information to justify the award.


  1. COMMITTEES

    1. A THREE MEMBER NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE shall be appointed by the Executive one month prior to the annual general meeting to bring in a suggested slate of officers for the coming term.

    2. A MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE shall be formed of five members and shall be appointed by the Executive. The treasurer shall be a member of this committee. This committee shall endeavor to increase membership in the Council.

    3. The Executive may request that any committee submit a written report to the Executive.


  2. MEETINGS

    1. Executive meetings must be held at least eight times a year at a time and place to be determined by the Executive.


  3. FEES

    Active - $5.00
    Honorary - Free
    Patrons - By donation of $25.00 or more/fiscal year.

  4. Fiscal year is June 1st to May 31st.
